Project descriptions

The Work page describes projects Halpern & Co. has carried out or is carrying out, summarised by location, scope and, where the build is complete enough to state it, size and year. Scopes vary: on some projects we are the general contractor, on others we deliver a defined package such as excavation, foundation, framing or plumbing. The scope shown for each entry is the scope we performed.

Street names and neighbourhoods are shown with our clients’ agreement. Client names are not published.

Photography

Photography on this site is used to illustrate the kind of work each discipline involves. Unless a caption names a specific project, an image should not be taken as a photograph of that project. Project photography is in production and will be captioned when it is published.

Estimates, timelines and pricing

Any figure, range or timeline mentioned on this site is indicative only. Real pricing and scheduling depend on drawings, site conditions, permits, material costs and trade availability at the time, and are only fixed in a signed agreement.

Licensing and insurance

Halpern & Co. carries $5,000,000 in commercial general liability insurance and is certified with the Workplace Safety and Insurance Board. Certificates are available on request and we provide them before work starts on any project that requires them. Every subcontractor we engage is required to carry commercial general liability cover and to supply a valid clearance certificate before setting foot on site. Trade licensing is held by the qualified individuals and subcontractors performing the relevant work.
